Description
The author worked as a senior researcher at the Biological Center of the Academy of Sciences in České Budějovice and has published over 150 papers in prestigious foreign journals in his field of insect physiology. In addition, he has published 17 books so far, including popular science books about mushrooms aimed at adults and fairy tale-themed books for children. The author also contributes articles about medicinal mushrooms to the magazines Receptář, Regenerace, and Mykologický sborník. For his book Encyclopedia of Medicinal Mushrooms, he was awarded the Josef Hlávka Prize for scientific literature in the field of life sciences in 2015. His book Mushroom Gnomes was published by the KRIGL Agency in Prague. In his second book Cheerfully About Animals and Mushrooms from the same publisher, he offers children funny and cheerful poems and rhymes about animals and mushrooms that will surely delight them. The book is wonderfully illustrated with a unique sense of humor by Miroslav Pavlík.
