Creative Expressive Inspirational Art Education – Jurečková Veronika (2015)

The publication presents an overview of theoretical and empirical studies on current topics in Czech art education and focuses in more detail on three thematic areas related to key concepts expressing the essence of art education: Creative, Expressive, and Inspirational. The introduction of the book provides a review study that presents, in historical development, the research topics that co-created the discourse of art education (or education through art) and contributed to the conception of the field and its current form in the Czech Republic. It extensively addresses the issue of creativity. Here, the reader will find answers to what influences creativity, what conditions positively affect children's creativity, and which strategies are, conversely, risky. The topic of creativity is further developed in a more focused chapter on creative abilities and principles in the creative interpretation of an artwork. The second part of the book deals with expressiveness in the artistic expression of children and adolescents and presents expressive creation as a subject of research and theory in art education in the context of other expressive fields.
