Description
The gripping story of this novella is described in an interview between the main character, pursued for murder, and a court expert, a psychiatrist. Among other things, the author, a prominent figure in the gay movement, conveys between the lines that in a romantic relationship, the fact of gender difference is insignificant; it is more about chance. Plots, misunderstandings, or the tumult of intimate relationships are not limited by this chance; it is always about two people as part of society, and they, as such, experience their fundamentally universal human dramas. Despite all the emerging pornographic elements and depictions of raw violent scenes, the book allows for the observation of the intertwining of the usual attributes of love stories: love, passion, suffering, and death. The extreme points on this axis are briefly (but it seems not exhaustively) specified through the motifs of sperm and blood.
