Obsahy a rozbory děl – group of authors (2017)

In the 2nd edition of this publication, chapters 19, 20, and 21 have been updated, covering the period of Czech and world literature from the end of World War II to the present. The CONTENTS AND ANALYSES OF WORKS are divided into 21 thematic areas (except for the chapter Basics of Literary Theory, which is included only in the literature textbook), which chronologically map the development of world and Czech literature from its beginnings to the present. The book does not attempt to replace personal reading, which is essential for studying literature. The authors aimed to present a book that provides the reader with basic information about the author and their work, but especially shows how to engage with a literary work during reading and analysis. Therefore, the focus is on individual aspects that collectively create the work and contribute to its originality, as well as those that characteristically represent the author's oeuvre (or a given period, literary movement, etc.). To enhance engagement and clarity, a short excerpt is always included. Another valuable feature of the presented textbook is a quote from a well-known figure, usually a literary critic or writer.
