Description
This textbook is primarily intended for high school students and teachers, but it can also be used as supplementary teaching material in language schools, during post-secondary studies, or in preparation for international language exams and entrance exams for universities. The textbook places great emphasis on the practical mastery of basic grammar at a level corresponding to the knowledge required for graduation exams; in addition, it offers a rich supply of grammatical terminology, which is available at the end of the book in an alphabetically ordered bilingual list. An undeniable advantage of the textbook is the number of examples that clearly demonstrate the theoretical explanations. This book is published simultaneously with English – a workbook for high school grammar. Both textbooks are designed based on the Catalog of Requirements for the English Language for the new format of the graduation exam approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The overview and the grammar workbook align in content and chronology of the topics covered, thus facilitating the use of both textbooks and navigation within them. The explanations briefly summarize the material covered during the study of the English language in high schools and include a basic overview of English grammar for the graduation exam. The individual chapters are systematically arranged according to the vocabulary...
