Description
Zuzana Nováková has published fifty titles of poems, fairy tales, stories from children's lives, poetic prose, and legends. This collection primarily includes the poetry collections Cold Night Land, Black Elder in a Rainy Night, The Beheading of the Moon, and October Sun (being published for the first time). In 2002, Zuzana Nováková received the Jan Skácel Award for her collection The Beheading of the Moon, which was then the most prestigious literary award in Moravia. In 2001, she won the first prize from the Democracy and Development Foundation in the field of dramatic works for children and youth. She is also a recipient of the City of Brno Award. In 2006, she was awarded the Order of Saint Cyril and Methodius in Velehrad for "her creative contribution to the education of moral values and the beauty of the Czech language, for her poetic work and books for children."
