Description
Occupational hygiene is an interdisciplinary field based on knowledge from various medical, natural science, and technical disciplines. The subject of the field in practice is to establish and promote requirements for creating and protecting healthy working conditions and methods of work hygiene, to monitor the impact of working conditions on the health of workers with the aim of strengthening and protecting their health, and to ensure that working conditions positively influence their physical and mental capacities. It thus contributes to the full utilization of workers' abilities, their job satisfaction, and the development of their personalities, thereby increasing productivity and the quality of their work. The assessment of indicators determining the quality of working conditions in specific jobs using methods applied in occupational hygiene is a prerequisite for the appropriate placement of individuals and teams in work.
