Description
A boy, his father, and a dog named Alan embark on a journey against their will after a strange disease has swept through their hometown. They long to find a place where they can settle down in peace and quiet. However, their destination lies somewhere out of reach. As they travel through cities, villages, and countries, they find help and friendship, but also various forms of prejudice and rejection. A colorful, magical-realist story, with its exotic settings, references the black continent as well as the fantastic adventures of Sinbad, while remaining relevant to the contemporary world. In May 2017, Daniela Olejníková received the award for the most beautiful Slovak book of the year for her illustrations in the original edition.
