Zříceniny hradů, tvrzí a zámků - Střední Čechy – Durdík Tomáš (2015)

To date, a number of very interesting books and encyclopedias have been published that describe castles, fortresses, and chateaux in our territory. This publication is just another piece in the mosaic for presenting, supplementing, and understanding these silent witnesses of the past, which have attracted the souls of romantics, tourists, historians, and scientists for many decades, even centuries. This book is already the second supplemented and expanded edition, published in 2000. This time it contains sixty-seven ruins located in Central Bohemia, captured in nearly four hundred photographs taken between 1996 and 2015. Each ruin of a castle, fortress, and chateau includes the clearest possible description of its history and architectural development, documentary photographs of individual locations, pen-and-ink material reconstructions, and diagrams (if they have been scientifically processed), as well as the most accurate description of tourist access for those interested in visiting the monument. The entire text section is translated into English in the appendix. The key element of this document is the color photographs that capture the current state of the ruins.
