Description
The study maps the development of the state bureaucracy from the reforms carried out in the mid-18th century, with a primary focus on the foreign service of the monarchy. Here, it primarily concerns the organization and structure within the central institution of the State Chancellery and later the Ministry of the Imperial and Royal House and Foreign Affairs. The most extensive chapter focuses on high officials of the conceptual service and, with the help of archival sources, memoirs, and other available resources, maps their careers in public service. Given the necessity of achieving the required education, part of the work is also devoted to the necessary upbringing and education of candidates for foreign service.
