Description
The well-known investigative reporter and writer Josef Klíma, multiple winner of the TýTý award, presents a new detective novel that aims to compete with more famous Nordic models. The characters are drawn from real life. He also played with motifs he dealt with as a journalist: the mysterious 'visions' with covered eyes and the growing trend of so-called neo-Celticism, which more and more people are succumbing to. Commissioner Bláhová bears no resemblance to feminist mutations of fearless superheroes and sometimes has more worries about her autistic son than about the rampage of a serial killer who executes victims according to a ritualistic key. And her male counterpart Kocourek, a prison priest, is unusually masculine for a clergyman. A climber with a colorful past, but also with the determination not to turn the other cheek to the merciless perpetrators he interacts with daily, but to stand up to them firmly.
