Description
A sense of music and the independent musical content of compositions has been lost in modern Western civilization. What remains is merely a fondness for electrifying dance rhythms, for the ecstasy of deafening noise, and for music as a sound backdrop. In this situation, Rudolf Steiner introduced a new artistic discipline - tone eurythmy as a movement art. Its task is not to express, in the manner of dance, personal feelings from the experience of music, but to visibly represent the real and objective content of a particular musical work. Tone eurythmy thus contributes to the renewal of the modern person's relationship with music and enhances their experience of music.
