Description
The supply chain is defined as a multi-tiered system of suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and customers. Material, financial, informational, and decision-making flows move between the levels of the supply chain in both directions. Material flows include the flow of new products from suppliers to customers and the reverse flows of returns, service, recycling, and disposal of products. Financial flows encompass various types of payments, loans, and flows arising from ownership relationships, etc. Informational flows connect the system with information about orders, deliveries, plans, etc. Decision-making flows are sequences of decisions made by participants that influence the overall performance of the chain.
