In today's increasingly globalized world, we are encountering the activities of multinational and regional financial institutions more and more. There is the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, but there are also the African Development Fund, the Arab Bank for Economic Development, the Asian Development Bank... The activities of many of these institutions directly affect the Czech Republic (especially after 1990) and have a direct impact on the Czech economy; we encounter several institutions mainly when implementing steps for international support for the poorest countries in the world. The world has shrunk, and problems that were previously presented as predominantly internal issues of individual territories have now become international problems, and their solutions require international cooperation (research and development, industrial policy, ecological issues). However, let us admit that we perceive the existence of these financial institutions, but often know little about them. Nevertheless, especially large companies regularly encounter the activities of these institutions in their foreign trade practices, often facing various barriers associated with their operations.
