René Kujan was just one of thousands of recreational runners ten years ago. But then he found himself in the passenger seat of a car that collided with an oncoming vehicle, and everything changed. From the doctor, he heard the chilling verdict: 'You will never run again.' Despite all the predictions, he completed a marathon nine months later. Since then, he has been running every day, sometimes even 32 marathons in a month. He constantly thinks of those who, unlike him, were not so fortunate and remain in wheelchairs – he participates in charity runs for their benefit. René Kujan (1974) is a translator, journalist, trained artistic carpenter (in that order), and also a runner. He has three world records in solo running in Iceland, having circled it and crossed it both horizontally and vertically. He believes that a person with the right motivation can achieve almost anything. He enjoys reading books with true stories.
