The name of František Drtikol, a world-renowned pre-war photographer, was known not only in artistic circles but also became a term among Buddhist, yogic, or mystically oriented groups of the 1960s. He was spoken of with an air of mystery and unattainability, like a uniquely radiant spiritual Master. Closer encounters with the traces left by this truly extraordinary personality were granted to only a few from the younger generation, either through acquaintance with one of Drtikol's students or by randomly obtaining one of the few samizdat copies of his written legacy, a substantial part of which you will find in this book.
