Description
Straw has been rediscovered in recent years as a cheap building material with very good thermal insulation properties. The authors describe the methods of building and the construction-technical peculiarities important when handling straw as a building material; they provide specific and practically oriented construction and implementation details that deserve attention to ensure that well-insulated residential houses with long lifespans can be built from straw bales. The publication includes instructions for surface treatment of wall surfaces, specific guidelines regarding the construction process, and descriptions of many buildings that have been realized so far.
