Description
A collected edition of the works of one of the greatest critical talents of the first half of the 20th century. The book gathers all the writings of Jan Franz—essays, critiques, glosses, and polemics. Among them, some of the most significant are precisely argued texts about the works of Konstantin Biebl, František Gellner, Vítězslav Nezval, Jan Čep, and Jaroslav Durych. The correspondence included in the volume consists of letters from the 1930s addressed to friends Vlastimil Vokolek, Jan Čep, Bohuslav Reynek, Jan Zahradníček, František Halas, Jan Hertl, as well as later letters that Franz wrote during total mobilization in Leipzig to Cyril Merhout and his family. Prepared by Miloš Doležal.
