This Czech-language book brings together three women, three artists and three mothers—Barbara Nesvadbová, Natálie Kocábová and Alena Ježková—around the single subject of fathers. Each author writes about a father from a mother’s or partner’s perspective, focusing on the fathers of their own children and the special magic fathers hold for children. The three stories share only this assignment, offering distinctly different views and original approaches to the same subject. The slim book is intended more for parents than children and is illustrated by Jaromír 99, co-author of the decidedly adult comic Alois Nebel, whose experienced, almost fatherly perspective and ironic pop-art style complement the stories.
