Romantismus a Čechy – Hrbata Zdeněk (1999)

European Romanticism has its unmistakable features in the individual national variants, but it is also characterized by general traits: common themes, emblems, symbols, and myths. Therefore, the first part of the book poses the question of how this 'common heritage' of Romanticism, represented by, for example, the romantic pilgrimage or the image of ruins and castles, was embraced by Czech literature, namely Mácha, Němcová, or Zeyer. The second part of the book confronts similar themes in Czech and French Romanticism ('fierce' Romanticism and prose K.
