Description

I am happy to comply with the request of the Almanach editorial team to express an introduction to the 2011 volume. The oldest Czech noble families likely originally descend from pre-Christian, sacred princes of the Slavic tribes of our land. However, according to the earliest written sources, they derive their power from the Czech prince. The emergence of the rest of the Czech nobility is then certainly an expression of the grace granted to the respective heir of the St. Wenceslas crown. Thus, we have received our mission not from the electoral majority, from the nation or class, but 'from above' and we are bound to it! After all, the clear message of our first holy land prince (St. Wenceslas) amidst the then still predominantly widespread paganism is the same as the message of our last (Blessed Charles) amidst the ideologies of the 20th century as new paganisms: truth, justice, power, joy, and grace come exclusively from the Creator! The terrifying consequence of deviating from this law is the distortion of our land almost beyond recognition during the 20th century. I would therefore be deeply grateful if the new edition of the Almanach helps remind us of the fundamentally vertical orientation of our estates. Perhaps through this we can serve God among the people.
