Description
In this collection of short stories, we encounter typical motifs from the world of Anker Larsen. We find the setting of the Danish countryside and similarly depicted characters as in the author's most famous work, The Philosopher's Stone. Niels Pasák, Per Bunke, the beautiful Sine, and especially the Candidate, one of the protagonists of The Stone, bring with them, in their often poignant fates, the ability to turn to God, to rise to great inner sacrifice, and to renounce their previously firm values - for God Himself. Their spiritual growth is as painful as it is unstoppable - the liberating Spirit rises dramatically in self-sacrifice, building an inner cathedral in celebration of the One, the Great Co-Conscious.
