By the way, if someone flips through this book, specifically in the chapters about the NKVD massacres in the North Caucasus 80 years ago, they will no longer be 'shocked' by current news from Ukrainian Mariupol, Irpin, or Bucha! After all, since the genocide of the Circassians in the 19th century, through the massacres in Upper Balkaria and Katyn, to the bombings of Budapest, Grozny, or Aleppo, nothing has changed in the thinking or methods of the Russian regime.
