This fantasy novel follows Redd, a self-serving wanderer and petty thief, through the smoking ruins of a fallen empire where ancient myths about the Droplet are growing stronger. The last drop of a fallen creator, the Droplet promises unlimited power and a final hope, and is hidden in a bronze tower in a distant land beyond the boundless Okeón. Redd has only his cloak, a worn sword and many memories of times long past, but he carries an obsession with the Droplet in his heart and intends to travel beyond the edge of the World. He is prepared to sacrifice anything to achieve his goal, including his own soul. Yet he is not the only one seeking the Droplet. A mysterious Marshal commanding a fleet of trans-Okeón frigates follows him like a shadow, and the two are connected by more than a shared goal. Across the World, factions are gathering that want to use the Droplet to restore absolute power. Ancient heresies are spreading, while the Radiant, cursed by fate, emerge from the shadows. One thing is certain: a storm of apocalyptic proportions is approaching, and Redd does not yet know that he will stand directly in its eye.
