Brána Ivrelu (2026)

Silver-haired Morgaine has a single task: to close the gates and destroy their power. The gates of a long-vanished civilization connect hundreds of worlds. The mysterious Morgaine travels among them with one goal: to destroy them before they bring about the end of time and space itself. Vanye is an honorable man, but also a fratricide and an outcast. With certain death awaiting him, his only remaining hope is that one of the lords will choose him as an ilin, a warrior bound by absolute obedience. When he encounters Morgaine, he immediately understands that the once-revered but now accursed legend has returned after a hundred years. Only too late does he realize that this beautiful and dangerous woman still has the right to make him her ilyo, a master to whom he must surrender himself completely. Pleas are useless. Morgaine is as merciless as the legends claim, and she needs Vanye and his sword. She has no other choice, because the Gate of Ivrel must be destroyed. This is the legendary novel with which C. J. Cherryh captivated the worlds of science fiction and fantasy and established herself among authors who are not forgotten.
