This Czech-language mathematics workbook follows a popular teaching concept based on rules, worked examples with solutions and exercises for practising new material. Creative and varied tasks motivate pupils to work, while the modern full-colour design supports their motivation and creativity. The workbook is aligned with the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and was created with the contribution of a broad team of teachers with extensive theoretical knowledge and practical classroom experience. It is divided into arithmetic and geometry and provides playful practice in addition and subtraction within the numbers up to 100, number lines, tables and comparisons. It covers revision of first-year material, tens and units, counting to 100, addition and subtraction of tens, calculations crossing the tens boundary, calculations with brackets, addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers, rounding to tens, telling the time, units of length, volume and weight, points, lines and line segments, and measuring in millimetres, centimetres and decimetres. A counting book complements the workbook, while a cut-out insert adds variety to selected exercises, encourages imagination and develops fine motor skills.
