Description
The plot of the novel takes place in the fictional town of Wicklow, nestled in the shadow of the Alabama mountains. It is here that Anna Kate returns to bury her beloved grandmother Zee, the owner of the Sparrow Café. It was supposed to be a short trip. She thought she would just close the café and handle her grandmother's estate. Despite her resolution to avoid forming any relationships and definitely not to search for her father's family, Anna Kate finds herself inexplicably drawn to this quirky Southern town from which her mother fled many years ago. Another magnet is the mysterious sparrow pie that everyone keeps talking about. The truth about her past slowly comes to light, and Anna Kate must decide whether to allow the lonely sparrow to finally spread its battered wings and take flight.
