Golden times – this phrase holds the charm of memories, nostalgia, or a life stage that, with the passage of time, has more colors. The girls were prettier back then and wore shorter skirts, more films worth queuing for were playing in cinemas, and songs were sung about things we understood, with choruses we remembered after the first listen... With exactly these words, I welcome my listeners every Sunday to the show Golden Times with Václav Kopta on Czech Radio Dvojka. And I am very glad that I can welcome you – my dear readers – with the same words. Together with Radioservis, we have prepared a selection from over nine hundred spoken segments that I intersperse with the musical numbers of my show. Thanks to the great collaboration with editor Milan Pokorný, we (hopefully) managed to translate my short stories into printed form.
