Nezapomenutelné experimenty – Strugackij Arkadij (2025)

What would the science fiction genre be without encounters with the mysterious, the unknown, transcending the limits of human understanding? Arkady and Boris Strugatsky were well aware of this, and so in their works, they often depicted the interaction between humans and unknown forces, whose actions are completely incomprehensible and intentions inexplicable.

In the short story The Forgotten Experiment, a handful of brave souls penetrate no man's land, into a wilderness full of mysterious phenomena and bizarre creatures. In the novella Capart, an earthly expedition on a distant planet gradually uncovers that the world where they landed during their mission is far from empty, as it initially seemed. Finally, the novella A Billion Years Before the End of the World convincingly shows that the strange does not have to lurk only in the wastelands or remote corners of the universe...

The main characters of all three works, however, remain primarily humans in all their diversity: the brave and the cowardly, the determined and the hesitant, those who prefer to retreat in the face of the unknown, and those who find the will and determination not to deviate from their original path.
