Description
Young noblewoman Raoule de Vénérande discovered a book as a child in the attic of her family palace, which opened the door to erotic escapades of all kinds. However, it didn't stop there - Raoule went much further and began to invent decadent forms of depravity herself. Her love for the poor florist was not sparked by his masculinity, but rather by his almost otherworldly feminine beauty. Raoule initially keeps Jacques, but later decides to reshape him in her image. She sends him flowers, dresses him in women's clothes, and indulges her manipulative and raw desires on him. The world of the remarkable novel Mr. Venus from the fin de siècle period is born from a rebellion against the simplifying norms imposed by society, and Rachilde, with her biting irony, shatters many contemporary stereotypes.
