More than fifty years ago, I came to Sweden from what was then Czechoslovakia. I will tell you an exciting, entertaining, and true story about how an ordinary Czech successfully integrated into the environment of a new country. I wrote this book primarily with today's social issues related to the integration of immigrants in Sweden in mind. I want to show how the integration of immigrants should look so that they become proper new citizens. I also want to tell you that a Czech will never get lost in the world. But it didn't start the way I imagined...: "Everything was as black as night, it can't even be described. No money, a stolen car (along with my driver's license), so everything I earned over the whole summer was gone. Far from the Swedish embassy, without the job I left, without a place to live, and winter was looming! I call that despair!!! Well, I won't jump into the river or hang myself. For example, I could ultimately return to Czechoslovakia. "But - from here to there!" I told myself. I need to find a backup plan..."
