Description
Yoga, as a philosophical system, generally thinks in cycles, working with the myth of eternal return. What has been here once will be here again, and it will be here forever, until a qualitative transformation occurs. With each new human generation, a new hope logically arises. Together with our own children, we can relive what we lacked in our own childhood, we can teach them, just as we teach ourselves, from the mistakes we make or those made by our parents, in perhaps sincere faith that we are doing our best. And perhaps in our well-meaning efforts, we are actually the same. What we can continuously strive for is conscious self-cultivation, which yoga, alongside other equally interesting and stimulating philosophies, offers. Because only one who is willing to understand themselves can find understanding for other people and be a support for them. (from the foreword by Barbora Hu)
