Description
This volume concludes the rich history of the 1st Fighter Squadron. The author describes, for example, the last participation in a Warsaw Pact exercise or the training for intervention against SR-71 aircraft with MiG-23s, live firing, and the squadron pilots' mission in Libya. In the period from 1989 to 1992, following the Velvet Revolution, new contacts and relationships with the former adversary emerge, but at the same time, a gradual reduction of armed forces on both sides begins, culminating in the disbandment of the 1st Fighter Squadron on December 31, 1994.
