Description
The motorization of armies became a significant modernization element during the interwar period, which took place, according to the economic capabilities of the state, also in the Czechoslovak army. Domestic car manufacturers supplied the military administration with passenger, cargo, and special vehicles. In the latter category, the Tatra company dominated, supplying 399 out of 660 special vehicles incorporated into the army, making it the most significant supplier in this segment with a share of 51.4%. These primarily included vehicles such as the Tatra T 24, T 25, and T 85, but the Tatra T 72 also had a considerable share. A wide range of specialized superstructures was created on its chassis, which deserves documentation for its diversity and construction variability.
