AEROmodel 8 - Aero C-3B ( Siebel Si 204) (2020)

It contains a cut-out paper model of the training and bombing aircraft of the Czechoslovak Air Force Aero C-3B in 1/48 scale. The 'Sibl', or trophy aircraft of German origin Siebel Si 204 and its Czechoslovak unlicensed copy Aero C-3, undoubtedly belongs among the legendary aircraft of the post-war era of Czechoslovak aviation. In terms of numbers, it was among the few most numerous and widely used types, and thus its role was no less significant compared to other originally German types, 'mules', 'aradas', and 'bikras'. Moreover, its use included a relatively wide range of various tasks in both air transport and training, aerial photography and photogrammetry, and ultimately, from the end of 1951, in the process of building an entire bombing division. In this case, although its role in terms of combat value was rather symbolic, it still allowed the division's personnel to be prepared within a few years to transition to the jet bomber Iljušin Il-28 in 1955. The era of 'sibl' in Czechoslovak aviation lasted just over ten years, during which these undoubtedly elegant, albeit somewhat archaic machines by 1955, served diligently and tirelessly not only on sunny days but also at night and in adverse weather conditions...
