Description

The poem Balchik was created in front of the statue of the goddess Cybele – majestically and nobly seated on a throne, yet with an offended head. The goddess's head has not been found to this day in Balchik, and the remnants of her temple have been swallowed by developers. In the interwar period, Romanian Queen Marie continued the legacy of Cybele by having the Quiet Nest built under the white cliffs of Balchik, her summer residence. The Black Sea connects several countries and intertwines their struggles and deaths; Balchik is the place of these clashes. Although Cybele was a goddess, she also had one weakness – her beloved Attis. This collection is dedicated to him.
