The title of the book builds on the author's previous work, The Economics of Natural Nations, but this time he focuses on the 'Czech People', which is not only a historical definition of the subject of interest but also a tribute to the ethnological journal of the same name that has been published since 1891. While The Economics of Natural Nations primarily dealt with the relationships between nature and culture in small societies, their more numerous successors had to address the pressing issues of large hierarchical societies, regardless of their social form and appearance. Therefore, this time the author's attention shifts to the relationship between nature and freedom and follows its shifts in the life of the local society over the past thousand years.
