Description
R.U.R. is probably the most famous work of Karel Čapek – not only because it was the first time in history that the word 'robot' was used, a term that Čapek invented with his brother Josef. The story is set on an island ruled by the factory Rossum's Universal Robots and warns of a future where technological advancements are not a good servant but a terrible master. Although the work was first published in 1920, it remains brilliantly relevant and, even more than a century later, proves its unattainable timelessness.
