Description
This Czech-language young adult adventure takes place on the remote island of Rosevear, where Mira and the six other members of her group regularly sail to shipwrecks to plunder them. Her role is to rescue any survivors, if there are any. Mira does not mind the work: she never feels the ocean’s cold, and the waves speak to her deep within her soul. The islanders, however, refuse to admit the truth: they light beacons themselves to lure ships onto the rocky reefs. When officers set a trap to end the wrecking once and for all and arrest Mira’s father, she makes a desperate bargain with a mysterious survivor whose breathtaking eyes conceal more than one secret. Mira sets out on an adventurous quest to uncover a family secret hidden in the depths of the sea. She has only nine days to save the people she loves, and knows one thing for certain: the sea gives, but it also takes away.
