Description
This richly illustrated Czech-language children’s book combines imagination with scientific knowledge in an alternative prehistory of the dinosaurs. During excavations, scientists discover that the ancient giant reptiles had special pockets in their bodies. Because they ate enormous quantities of plant food, they produced a great deal of gas during digestion, and this clever adaptation allowed them to use it in many ways. The gases helped the inhabitants of the Mesozoic era move, play and compete, search for food and partners, reach fresh leaves at the tops of trees and escape predators. When a giant asteroid struck Earth and caused a planetary catastrophe, these unusual dinosaurs survived. Alongside the humour, the book teaches readers how important balance is to life on our planet.
