Where did the world of business and economics, as we know it today, come from? They also address the historical roots of various forms of business, such as joint-stock companies, the phenomenon of family business, or the beginnings of modern management. The social contexts of business are not overlooked, such as the relationship between entrepreneurs and the working class, women's entrepreneurship, or economic nationalism. In a reversed perspective, the book also focuses on the image of the entrepreneur in the public space – how they are perceived by art or the media.
