Description
The animated series Háček + Čárka was published on the last page of Sluníčko from 1972 to 1974. Although it was a magazine for preschoolers, the comic by Jaroslav Malák was not an ordinary picture story for the youngest. It introduced a pair of children who realized they were 'in some kind of series.' Their adventures can thus be read in various ways: as a cheerful comic strip, a play with the expressive means of the comic medium, and as an unexpected insight into Czechoslovak society at the turn of the 60s and 70s. In any case, it is a unique testament to how mature positions comics had already achieved in our country fifty years ago.
