Co se stalo Veronice – Nováková Tereza (2023)

Unstable, hysterical, self-centered, sensitive, impatient, anxious, a bit spoiled, and moody—these are all things that could be said about Veronika. But what happened that she is right here and now, in bed with a stranger, hoping that this sex will end soon? Thoughts swirl in Veronika's mind, intertwining into a huge knot, and she tries to untangle them to avoid facing the present. From what seems like a fun game and harmless reminiscing, we piece together Veronika's fate, learning about her loves, relationships, and pains, and discovering what actually happened to her. Screenwriter Tereza Nováková debuts with a minimalist prose. She doesn't need colorful descriptions and complex characterizations to creatively assemble the story of thirty-something Veronika from fragments and anecdotes, a story that is not as light-hearted as it may seem at first glance.
