Description
Štěpán is eleven, and his whole world depends on adults. But what is he to do when his dad seems to have gone crazy—he moved out, grew a beard, and his ankles peek out from his pants? Dad's new girlfriend doesn't care much for Štěpán, making him feel unnecessary. His mom sighs, saves on everything, and it seems she isn't well. Therefore, Štěpán wishes for one thing above all— to grow up as quickly as possible and be self-sufficient. Zuzana Dostálová wrote a novel about adolescence and adulthood, about loneliness and independence. The hero's life is followed over several years, and the narrative does not leave it solely to him.
