Description
Two brothers, each entirely different: one clever, treacherous and cowardly, the other handsome, agile and something of a rogue. Years ago, Adam joined the army, eventually discovering that his parents had turned against him. His father became even more embittered after Adam failed to attend his mother’s funeral, but now he summons him home. Adam returns after several years with mixed feelings, unaware that he is about to become part of a carefully planned game of intrigue. In a second storyline, he tries to help his brother Igor’s wife, who is suffering greatly from strange symptoms. This Czech-language novel reveals the layers of family relationships and Adam’s efforts to make amends for the wrongs of the past.
