Viola Jíchová was born in 1982 in Hořovice. In her childhood, after a severe injury, she experienced near clinical death, and this difficult period has influenced her work. She made her literary debut in 2009 with the poetry collection "Veselé slzy," for which she was nominated for the Jiří Orten Award. The collection "Ostrov květů" is her eighth published book.
