Description
Each of us has a name. We are used to seeing it on a certain day in the calendar and we like to wish our loved ones and friends well on their name day. When Vlastimil Šantroch, known as Shaana, decided to write a poem for each name in the calendar, he imposed a great discipline on himself. Especially since he wrote the poems – limericks – for the current name every day upon waking. Many would have given up on a similar project over time, but Shaana persevered. Thanks to this, you are now holding a remarkable book in your hands, in which you can flip back through and read beautiful as well as humorous poems about our names at any time. I believe that alongside the calendar, this lovely, poetic Shaalendář will find its permanent place.
