It is the year 1942, and Evelyn Bishop, the heiress of an aviation empire, works as an interpreter in London. At least that's what her father thinks. In reality, Evelyn is involved in the war effort far more than just translating dispatches. She has become an OSS agent with the goal of finding her brother, who is being held as a prisoner of war in a labor camp somewhere in France. Evelyn is integrated into a small team, and together they are sent on special missions to occupied Europe. The team of comrades will become her family, and with one of them, commander Nick Gallagher, she will soon share more than just a common mission. However, their relationship will end at the war's conclusion when one of them commits an unforgivable betrayal.
Six years later, Evelyn is back in her hometown of Los Angeles, where she has her own detective agency. While tailing a man suspected of infidelity, she unexpectedly reunites with Nick, who is working as a private detective for the man. But the man is soon murdered.
Evelyn and Nick then decide to join forces one last time to uncover the murderer, but they soon realize that the war they left behind in Europe three years ago has followed them right to their doorstep... Right now, it's time to settle the score.
