Description
This Czech-language crime thriller follows Harry Rawlins, a brilliant criminal who has always managed to stay one step ahead of the police for more than twenty years. A robbery of an armoured van is supposed to earn him and his associates hundreds of thousands of pounds, but this time the operation goes wrong by accident, and Harry and his partners are killed. Afterwards, his wife Dolly discovers detailed instructions among his belongings explaining how to carry out an armed robbery, and she faces a difficult choice. She can hand Harry’s notes to the police, who have made her life extremely difficult since her husband’s death; give them to the criminals who have taken over Harry’s territory; or join forces with the widows of Harry’s associates and attempt the robbery herself. This entertaining crime novel about a highly unusual heist is based on the famous 1983 British television series, which is soon to receive a modernised film adaptation written by Gillian Flynn and directed by Steve McQueen.
