Description
The introduction of the reader includes shorter and simpler texts, gradually increasing in difficulty. The reader focuses significantly (but in a non-intrusive and entertaining way) on practicing reading techniques. It includes both prose texts and poems and songs, as well as four dramatic sketches (one for each quarter), which aim to bring fun into literature classes (the sketches can be used, for example, during school performances). Simple tasks help students better understand the meaning of the texts they read and refresh their previously acquired knowledge. Working with tasks is aimed at both individual work and group work. Thematically, the reader reflects the changing seasons and addresses topics covered in elementary education, such as the human being and their health, family, home, means of transport, and road safety, as well as the world around us. Furthermore, the reader is interlinked with the curriculum of the Czech language, music, and practical education.
